Salisbury Athletics Hall of Fame Selection Criteria 
(Please review before submitting nomination)

General Guidelines
1. No individual may nominate his or her self.
2. A nominee may be deceased; however, deceased nominees must have passed away at least two years prior 
    to selection into the Hall of Fame.
3. If a nominee is not selected within a period of five years, he/she is automatically removed from the list of active nominees. A second nomination shall remain active for a period of three years, after which it will be placed on a permanent inactive status.

Student-Athlete Criteria
1. Must have significantly contributed to the athletic heritage of Salisbury University.
2. Must have graduated from Salisbury University.
3. Must have graduated for at least 10 years prior to their selection for the Hall of Fame.
4. Strong consideration will be given to the following: varsity letters won; post season honors earned (e.g. MVP,
   all-conference, all-region, all-America); leadership on and off the field; outstanding athleticism in more than one
   sport; national and/or international prominence attained since leaving the University.

Coaches Criteria
1. Must have significantly contributed to the athletic heritage of Salisbury University.
2. Must have been a head coach in one or more sports at Salisbury University.
3. Must have been out of coaching (in his/her primary sport) for at least five years.
4. A coach with at least 20 years of coaching experience is automatically eligible, upon nomination, as soon as
    he/she discontinues coaching in his/her primary sport.
5. Strong consideration will be given to the following: won/lost record; length of service; strength of won/lost
   record; graduation rate of his/her athletes; post-season playoff appearances; conference/regional/national sport
   committee service; respect from student-athletes; championships won; number of sports coached; and coach of
    the year awards.

Non-Coach/Non-Athlete Criteria
1. Must have significantly contributed to the athletic heritage of Salisbury  University.
2. Must have served at least 15 years at Salisbury University.
3. Must have performed an outstanding and/or special service to the athletics program.
4. Must have ended University service for at least five years; however, after 20 years of service, individuals can
    become eligible, upon nomination, as soon as they discontinue service to the University.
