SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University women’s tennis team played host to Eastern Shore rival Washington College on Sunday but came up short 6-3 in defeat.

Washington swept the doubles matches to start off the match. Salisbury rallied to split the six single matches against the Shorewomen.

Salisbury (0-3) received its first win from No. 3 sophomore Anna Marie Kable who beat Lydia Bull in three sets, 3-6, 7-5, 10-6. Sophomore Hannah Parsons (7-5, 7-5) and freshman Kelly Fahrner (6-4, 6-4) each won in straight sets.

SU will host Division I program and neighbor University of Maryland Eastern Shore at 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 7. The Sea Gulls won last season’s meeting, 9-0.
